| | Maogusi [edit this] | | Maogusi is the most ancient and primitive of Tujia folk dance. With straw all over the body, straw braid over the head and around the waist, a round stick wrapped with red cloth and tied to the front of the stomach symbolize procreation worship. While performing, the old dancer takes the lead, followed by a younger one, with Gulusi (a deceiver) dancing between them. Unconstrained acting like hunting and fishing demonstrate ancient production and struggle of Tujia folk. | Edit by: ch | |
